Halborn
July 11th, 2024
Halborn, a leading blockchain security firm, is proud to announce the successful completion of its SOC 2 Type 2 examination. This achievement builds on our prior success with SOC 2 Type 1 compliance, completed earlier this year, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to the highest standards of data security and operational excellence in the blockchain industry.
SOC 2 (System and Organization Controls 2) compliance involves a thorough evaluation of a service organization's controls relevant to security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy.
There are two types of SOC 2 examinations:
SOC 2 Type 1: This examination assesses the design of a company's security controls at a specific point in time. Halborn successfully completed its SOC 2 Type 1 examination in January 2024, demonstrating that our controls were suitably designed to meet the required criteria.
SOC 2 Type 2: This examination goes a step further by evaluating not only the design but also the operational effectiveness of these controls over a period of time. For Halborn, this period spanned from December 1, 2023, to May 31, 2024. Conducted by Schellman & Company LLC, a PCAOB-registered CPA firm, this rigorous process ensures that our security controls are consistently effective and reliable.
Achieving SOC 2 Type 2 compliance underscores Halborn’s dedication to operational excellence and industry leadership.
Key benefits include:
Strengthened Client Trust: This examination assures our clients and partners of the reliability and security of Halborn’s services, further solidifying their confidence in our capabilities.
Industry Leadership: Halborn continues to set a high bar for security practices in blockchain technology, reinforcing our position as a cybersecurity industry leader.
Commitment to Excellence: Our continuous improvement and rigorous adherence to security protocols are highlighted by this achievement.
New Business Opportunities: Adherence to recognized security standards opens new doors, particularly with clients who prioritize stringent security measures.
The examination scope included Halborn's Blockchain Security Services, focusing on the security category. The review period for this examination was from December 1, 2023, to May 31, 2024. The SOC 2 report provides an objective evaluation of the effectiveness of Halborn's controls that address operations and compliance as well as financial reporting at our user entities. The detailed evaluation by Schellman & Company LLC confirms that our controls were suitably designed and operating effectively throughout the review period.
Rob Behnke, CEO and Co-Founder of Halborn, shared his enthusiasm for this accomplishment:
“Our journey to SOC 2 Type 2 compliance follows our successful SOC 2 Type 1 examination, completed earlier this year. This initial examination demonstrated our capability to design effective security controls. The Type 2 examination now confirms our ability to maintain and operate these controls effectively over an extended period, reflecting our steadfast commitment to security excellence.”
